History
Brockway was founded in 1836 as "Brockwayville" and named after Alonzo and John S. Brockway, who arrived in 1822. The post office, initially named "Brockwayville," was changed to "Brockway" in 1925. The Brockwayville Passenger Depot was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003, highlighting its historical significance.
Brockway Glass Company
Founded in 1907, Brockway Glass Company played a key role in glass manufacturing. It grew significantly after acquiring Hazel-Atlas Glass factories in 1964 and was eventually acquired by Owens-Illinois in 1987.
